Environment Protection & Heritage (EPH) Standing Committee

Establishment and Functions

EPHC is supported by the Environment Protection and Heritage Standing Committee (EPH Standing Committee). The EPH Standing Committee is the principal advisory body to the Council. The main objective of the EPH Standing Committee is to support the Council in the achievement of its objective and terms of reference, and to develop cooperative and coordinated approaches to matters of concern to the Council.

With regard to the objective and scope of Council, the roles of EPH Standing Committee are to:

  • assist and advise Council in the performance of its functions and the exercise of its powers both generally and under the NEPC Act;
  • oversight the work of subordinate bodies established by Council or by itself;
  • advise Council on the initiation, review and development of EPH Standing Committee activities; and
  • secure cooperation between members.

Membership of EPH Standing Committee

The EPH Standing Committee comprises the EPHC Executive Officer and nominees of each member of the Council. Each observer on Council may nominate an observer to EPH Standing Committee.
